Therapeutic Creative Workshops for Carers

I am really excited to be partnering up with Werrington Community Library and Wellbeing Centre. They had been successful in securing funding from The National Lottery for counselling sessions, CREATIVE WORKSHOPS and personal care/respite support for carers and families with caring responsibilities affected by COVID-19.

Support sessions for carers and families with caring responsibilities

In collaboration with Rachel Butcher and Lisa Shaw from On the Horizon Counselling Services CIC, I will be providing therapeutic creative workshops will take place within our Art Studio 4 room at the Foxlowe Arts Centre, Leek and Werrington Well Being Centre. Currently, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, online or phone counselling is underway and future face to face sessions will be accessible when restrictions are relaxed.

To qualify for respite support all you need is to be a carer or a family with caring responsibilities who lives in Werrington, Wetley Rocks, Cellarhead, Leek or Cheadle area.

Counsellor Rachel Butler explains, “This project will provide support to lift that burden on carers and families with a range of support scenarios including counselling, online support and creative workshops. Local artist Gavin Bowyer is part of the delivery team because art is such a great diversion and a way to work out stress and anxiety. We are urging anyone affected by the restrictions who live in the area covered by the project to get in touch.”

If you are interested in this new innovative creative project and would like to work through whats going on for you at the moment please get in touch with the Werrington Wellbeing Project.
