Another steady 5 hour shift today bringing me closer to completion. More tonal tweaking on this life sized portrait of this chap. Hopefully a Friday’s #paoty deadline will be met in good time.

Visit the full exhibition from the comfort of a cafe seat. Over the next two months I will be completing drawing and painting demonstrations Book a table and watch me develop my latest portrait. Stay posted and find out when. Alternatively, you can visit me in Studio 6 to discuss artwork purchase, portrait commissions (human, animal or both), workshop bookings, 1-2-1 tuition, homeschooling or therapeutic art sessions.
Featuring works created in oils, acrylic, pencil and graphite which illustrate the ephemeral fragile natural world, and capture vivid poignant pictures in a realistic format. I naturally gravitate to ordinary people or wildlife finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances or vice versa. Much of my pleasure is in the process. In a world where colour reigns supreme, simplifying the artwork by restricting the colour scheme to a classic black and white palette gives your eye a place to rest and a break from saturated colour. Visitors can be confident of seeing the joy of mark-making and unpicking the perceptual experience.
The Foxlowe Cafe Staff and I look forward to your visit. Remember to follow current restrictions.
Sadly, I received this email from Alistair Redgrift, Exhibitions Manager from Mall Galleries/Federation of British Artists with regard to the Pastel Society 122nd Annual Exhibition.
‘Dear Exhibitor,
I’m writing on behalf of Mall Galleries with an important update regarding The Pastel Society’s 122nd AnnualExhibition. Following the latest lockdown, it is with regret that the physical exhibition will be postponed.
Online Exhibition
However, the show continues online, where works remain for sale, and where we will announce this year’s prize winners on 27 January:
Please note that we plan to stage the physical exhibition at the gallery in April, subject to government restrictions. With warm regards in the meanwhile,
Fingers crossed the physical exhibition will resume in April. In the meantime I would like to invite you to continue to share with people who would enjoy viewing online this incredible exhibition.
